A deftly written romantic historical novel that keeps the reader completely engrossed describing the opulence of the lifestyle and seafaring challenges of that era. The heroine faces with courage the difficulties and dangers from men and the sea to find true happiness at long last. A book to reread!

Not only is TERRA FELIZ VANITY beautifully written, an absorbing love story is set in an era of early trade on sailing ships. Talented author Ginny Bryce had me hooked from the beginning until the end. I recommend TERRA FELIZ VANITY to all readers.
A well written novel. Madeleine travels from England to North America to a life on Terra Feliz. This is a love story worth reading. It is also an enlightening and interesting book with information of early trade on sailing ships. Really enjoyed this one!!!
'Terra Feliz' is a gentle adventure relating the fate of Madeleine, our intrepid heroine. A love story, it tells of happiness, some difficulties, and then tragedy and distinct problems. As the story nears to a climax it becomes ever more exciting and as a yarn in the tradition of say Catherine Cookson, set as it is in the early 1800's, it is engaging and replete. Ginny Bryce has a nice turn of phrase and often her descriptions are touching and colorful. Her characters too are eminently believable and this story certainly does not disappoint. She is a story-teller of some craft and can keep you hooked throughout the many chapters. I would recommend this book to anyone who for instance has enjoyed 'Gone with the Wind', another book set in a similar time frame and upper class world.
Terra Feliz is an historical novel set in England and North America in the 1820s. Madeleine Pelletier consented to marry rich, forty-year old widower, Richard Leighton, owner of Leighton Trading,as a matter of expedience on her fathers advice.Living in his sumptuous mansion Briarhill she finds love with another man but cannot declare it openly as she's a married woman, a woman in conflict with her husbands daughters and who has earned the enmity of his housekeeper however.
This is a beautifully woven tale full of historical accuracy showing Ms. Bryce knows her subject well.
Not just a tale for the romanticists but for lovers of the historical period too. Well crafted.
Really liked the historical references. You can see that Ms. Bryce knows and loves history and historical fiction. I can't wait to read more. There will be a next book - I hope!
